In German, a number is referred to as <em>&#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zahlen-bitte\">Zahlen<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zahlen-bitte\">&#8216;<\/a><\/strong><\/em><strong>.<\/strong> German numbers have a variety of names, just like the English digits one, two, and three.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">One is referred to as <em>&#8216;<\/em><strong><em>Eins<\/em>&#8216;<\/strong>, two as<em> &#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zwei\">Zwei<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zwei\">&#8216;<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and three as <em>&#8216;Drei&#8217;<\/em>. Four is pronounced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/vier\"><strong><em>&#8216;Vier&#8217;<\/em><\/strong> <\/a>(which sounds like &#8216;Fear&#8217;), followed by<em> &#8216;<\/em><em><strong>F\u00fcnf<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>, <em>&#8216;<strong>Sechs<\/strong>&#8216;,<\/em><em>&#8216;<strong>Sieben<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>, <em>&#8216;<strong>Acht<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>, <em>&#8216;<strong>Neun<\/strong><\/em><em>&#8216;<\/em>, and <em>&#8216;<strong>Zehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em><strong><em>,<\/em><\/strong> for five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">The numbers 11 through 20 are pronounced as follows in German.\u00a0 Eleven (11) is <em>&#8216;<strong>Elf<\/strong>&#8216;,<\/em> twelve (12) is<strong><em> &#8216;<\/em><\/strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zw%C3%B6lf\">Zw\u00f6lf<\/a><\/em><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zw%C3%B6lf\">&#8216;<\/a><\/em>,<\/strong> and thirteen (13) is<em> &#8216;<strong>Dreizehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>. Fourteen (14) is pronounced <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/vierzehn\">&#8216;<strong>Vierzehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0 fifteen (15) is <em>&#8216;<strong>F\u00fcnfzehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>, and sixteen (16) is<em> &#8216;<strong>Sechzehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em><strong>.<\/strong> Seventeen (17) is known as<em> &#8216;<strong>Seibzehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em> while eighteen (18)\u00a0 is <em>&#8216;<strong>Akhtzehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>. <em>&#8216;<strong>Neuntzehn<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em> equals 19 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zwanzig\"><em>&#8216;<strong>Zwanzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em><\/a> equals 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">The next numbers 30, 40 and 50 are pronounced as <em>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/drei%C3%9Fig\"><strong>Drei\u00dfig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/a>, &#8216;<strong>Vierzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em> and<em> &#8216;<strong>F\u00fcnfzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em> respectively, whereas 60, 70 and 80 are called as <em>&#8216;<strong>Sechzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>,<em>&#8216;<strong>Siebzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em><strong>, <\/strong>and <em>&#8216;<strong>Achtzig<\/strong>&#8216; <\/em>singly. <em>&#8216;<strong>Neunzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em> is 90 and 100 is <em>&#8216;<strong>Hundert<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">The names for twenty-one (21) and twenty-two (22) are <em>&#8216;<strong>Ein<\/strong> <strong>und<\/strong> &#8211;<strong>Zwanzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em> and <em>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/zwei-und-zwanzig\"><strong>Zwei<\/strong> <strong>und<\/strong> &#8211;<strong>Zwanzig<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;<\/em> respectively. Thus, by adding 1\u00a0to 10 to the <em>&#8216;<strong>Zwanzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>\u00a0, the numbers 21 to 30 can be formed.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">The same numerals 1 through 10 can also be joined with <em>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtopronounce.com\/german\/drei%C3%9Fig\">Drei\u00dfig<\/a>&#8216;,<\/em> <em>&#8216;<strong>Vierzig<\/strong>&#8216;,<\/em> and<em> &#8216;<strong>F\u00fcnfzig<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>, and still further, to produce 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and further.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">So!
