German names for various colours include green, crimson, pink, orange, yellow, blue, purple, black, and white.
Pink colour is referred to ‘Rosa’, and red is referred to ‘Rot’. ‘Orange’ (both in English and German) denotes orange, ‘Gelb‘ denotes yellow, ‘Blau’ denotes blue, and ‘Lila’ denotes purple. ‘Schwarz’ and ‘Weiß’ both refer to black and white respectively. Grey is referred to ‘Grau’, green as ‘Grün’, and brown as ‘Braun’.
