ऑनलाइन जर्मन! जर्मन भाषा में ‘ऊहर’ क्या होता है? (भाग-२)

इस लेख में हम जानेंगे कि जर्मन में  ‘ऊहर’ (Uhr) का क्या अर्थ होता है? ‘ऊहर’ (इंग्लिश में O’clock) की अवधारणा जर्मन का एक समय-बताने वाला शब्द है।
जर्मन भाषा में समय दर्शाने के लिए १ से २४ तक की संख्याओं का उपयोग किया जाता है, और यह आधी रात १२ बजे से (रात के १२ बजे यानि २४ वा घंटा ) सुबह १२ तक की गिनती की जाती है। सुबह ५ बजे को ‘फ्युन्फ ऊहर’ (Fünf Uhr- 5 am या  5 O’clock) ,और आधी रात १ बजे को ‘आईन ऊहर ‘(Ein Uhr- 1am) कहा जाता है। सुबह के १० बजे को ‘त्झीन ऊहर’ (Zehn Uhr- 10 am) कहते हैं , और ‘झ्व्योल्फ ऊहर’ (Zwölf Uhr-12 pm) दोपहर १२ बजे को कहते हैं।

दोपहर १ बजे से समय के सम्बोधन बदल जाते हैं। इसी तरह दोपहर १ बजे. (१३ बजे) ‘द्रायत्झीन ऊहर’ (Dreizehn Uhr-1 pm) और शाम ६ बजे (अर्थात् १८ बजे) ‘आख्टत्झीन ऊहर’ (Achtzehn Uhr- 6 pm) अनुबोधन है। रात्रि १० बजे (२२ बजे) के लिए ‘झ्वाय उण्ड झ्वान्झिश ऊहर’ (Zwei und-Zwanzig Uhr-10 pm) और रात के १२ बजे के लिए (२४ बजे) ‘फिअर उण्ड झ्वान्झिश ऊहर’ (Vier und-Zwanzig Uhr-12 am) सम्बोधन है।

जर्मन में ‘आधे घंटे’ का मतलब ‘हाल्ब’ (Halb) होता है। साढ़े तीन को जर्मन में ‘हाल्ब फ़ियर’ (halb Vier-3:30 O’clock) (चार का आधा यानी साढ़े तीन) कहा जाता है। इसी तरह ‘हाल्ब फ़्युन्फ़’ (halb Fünf-4:30 o’clock) मतलब साढ़े चार और ‘हाल्ब आख्ट’ (halb Acht- 7:30 o’clock) का मतलब साढ़े सात !  दोपहर के डेढ़ बजे को ‘द्रायत्झीन ऊहर द्रायझीश'(Dreizehn Uhr Dreißig-1:30 pm) और रात के साढ़े ग्यारह को ‘द्राय उण्ड झ्वान्झिश ऊहर द्रायझीश’ (Drei und -Zwanzig Uhr Dreißig- 23: 30 pm) कहा जाता है।

‘फिअरटेल’ शब्द का प्रयोग ‘ क्वार्टर’ याने ‘१५ मिनट का समय’ बताने के लिए किया जाता है। ६: ४५ को ‘फिअरटेल फोर झिबन’ कहा जाता है, और ९: १५ को ‘फिअरटेल नाख नॉइन’ कहा जाता है। ‘फोर‘ का अर्थ है ‘१५ मिनट पहले’ , और ‘नाख’ याने ‘१५ मिनट के बाद’ ।

In this article we will learn what does Uhr mean in German? The concept of ‘Uhr’ (O’Clock in English) is a time-telling word from German.
German uses numbers from 1 to 24 to denote time, and it counts from midnight to midnight (i.e., 24). While 5 am is referred to as ‘Fünf Uhr,’. 1 a.m. in the midnight is referred to as ‘Ein Uhr’. ‘Zehn Uhr’ is 10 a.m., while ‘Zwölf Uhr’ is 12 p.m.

The time expressions do change starting at 1 in the afternoon, though. In the same way as 1 p.m. (13 o’clock) is ‘Dreizehn Uhr’ and 6 p.m. (also 18 o’clock) is ‘Akhtatzehn Uhr’. ‘Zwei und- Zwanzig Uhr’ refers to 10 p.m. (at 22 o’clock) and ‘Vier und- Zwanzig Uhr’ to 12 a.m. (at 24 o’clock) in the midnight.

In German, ‘Halb’ is the word for ‘Half an hour.’ Half of four, or three and a half, is pronounced as ‘halb Vier’ in German. Similar expressions include ‘halb Fünf’ for 4.30 and ‘halb Akht’ for 7.30 ! However, half past one (1.30 p.m.) is referred to as ‘Dreizehn Uhr dreißig‘ (13. 30) and half past eleven( 11.30 p.m.) is referred to as ‘Dreiundzwanzig Uhr dreißig’(23. 30).

The word ‘Viertel’ is used to describe the idea of a ‘Quarter’. Quarter before seven is referred to as ‘Viertel vor Zieben’, and quarter after nine is referred to as ‘Viertel nach Neun’. While ‘Vor’ means ‘Quarter to’; ‘Nach’ implies ‘Quarter past’.
